Default Creating a Web Page with Microsoft Publisher 2007

If you want a method to make a web page and begin your own website but do not have HTML coding skills or time to learn a web design program then you can make a web page using Microsoft Publisher. Microsoft tool utilized to make web pages was called FrontPage but it was discontinued after 2003 version and replaced by Microsoft Expression Web and SharePoint Designer, which were out in 2006.

Remember that if site wants advanced features like interactivity or database-driven content, or if it will be utilized with data validation, like for checking credit card numbers then you want to utilize a program intended for those features. But if you want an easy site with text and pictures then Publisher will work well.

You can begin process by making your page from scratch or copying content from other websites and then edit it to suit your requirements. Click on File menu and choose New and choose Publication Types. From there select Web Sites. To make a custom Web site that is depend on site goals, utilize Easy Web Wizard. To make a Web site from scratch, under Web Sites, tick Blank Sizes, and then tick size that you need. Then click on Create. Enter in content text and images to create page look the way you need.

After doing all things in your way then preview the site by Design Checker to help get any potential problems. Design Checker can be run from Tools menu. You can select to have Design Checker repair problems mechanically or take you to points where problems are placed in page. Lastly preview the page by going to file menu and picking Web Page Preview. This will open page in a web browser so you can see how it will look thus you can check hyperlinks and other controls.

To place your site on internet you want hosting service that you can upload the content to. There are sites that will give free web page hosting probably in return for placing their advertisements on your page. Microsoft gives a free website hosting if you want it. Then you can bring out your page on web server using different methods which will differ based on host. You can also bring out your page to a local intranet for inter office use and that way you won’t require a hosting service but remember people outside of network will not be able to see your site.

When you are prepared to bring out your site, Publisher assembles all files that it makes in a single folder containing all HTML pages that make up your site, graphic images that you utilize on your pages, and any files for embedded sounds. Office Publisher makes a single home page and a subfolder that has all supporting files that are wanted for Web site. This can be customized to your requirements. You can publish your site to an internet address, FTP site or a folder on PC. After that publish updates by using incremental publish to Web, which publishes only those pages that you have updated rather than the whole site.

Help. I have created a basic 6 page webpage in MS Publisher 2007. The problem that I am having is that the site opens differently depending on the screen resolution of the user. Is there any type of HTML command that I can use to make the size of the page open to the screen resolution?
