The .RND file extension is not one pc user is usually familiar with. In fact, a choose few longtime pc user probably remember .RND or the 3D utility program it was connected with.

1. .RND is an edited form of "Rendering," the file is known as an Autos hade Rendering File.

Origin

2. .RND files are files shaped by Auto Shade, an early pc 3D rendering program.
Released in 1987, the program was one of the first 3D rendering applications. It received little hold up and rejection instruction updates following its initial release. Autos hade saw some use in the next few years, but it was rapidly eclipsed by additional advanced programs, such as AutoCAD.

Function

3. .RND files contained information added color and shading to wireframe 3D pc models. The quality of the render was not photorealistic; an important pace in rendering excellence that provided a true 3D look.

Today

4. There is little use of Autos hade today. It exists mostly as a past footnote, and has no practical applications.
