Lotus 1-2-3 is a worksheet application similar to Microsoft Excel. Excel 2007 has converters installed to access a variety of file formats, including Lotus worksheets (.wk4 and earlier). Functions are available in the "Tools" menu in Excel to appraise calculations from the adaptation and to update broken links and formulas. While Excel 2007 includes full converters to pick up charts, labels and cross-referencing, specific functions should be checked--such as positive and negative numbers--because of the operational differences between the two programs. Excel does not run macros embedded in the Lotus file.
