Thread: Maintain system protected from Trojan.Generic.1051991

I am having Vista with antivirus and when I browsing by IE 8, I get messages of Trojan.Generic.1051991. I cannot know why this is occurring. Occasionally, as downloading software too, I am getting these messages. I am ignoring them but before my PC crashed I want solution.

Enable firewall to maintain system safe from virus.

• Go to Start, Control Panel.
• Click on Security.
• Click on Turn Windows Firewall ON or OFF.
• Choose ON. And Press OK.

Maintaining system updated to safe from virus. For this, turn automatic updates on as shown below:
1. Go to Start, then Control Panel.
2. Click on System and Maintenance.
3. Go to Windows Updates.
4. In setting choose Automatic and set time that is proper to you do download updates. If you do not choose automatic, then balloon shows in tray, help to download updates.

Stop downloading pirated software. Many times, attacker embeds infection along with software as he knows that users will fall victim to this kind of attack. Users will download pirated software and eventually download infections into system.
