Step 1

Access Virus Scan Console in Windows it is in "Start", below "McAfee." You can access it through VShield system tray icon by right clicking. Double click "Access Protection." This aspect manages what access is allowed by McAfee, and let you to decide when scans take place.

Find "Prevent McAfee Services from being stopped." This checkbox is mechanically chosen for many users. Click box to deselect it. Click "Apply" and "OK" to confirm change and close console.

Find McAfee Virus Scan icon in system tray. Right click icon and choose "Disable On-Access Scan." This avoids McAfee from scanning PC when it's accessed.
