Everybody has gotten virus on their PC one time or other. What most people do after their PC get virus; though can decide whether or not their PC will be usable again. Here described what to do when this occurs.

Instructions

Step 1

Ensure you have dependable anti-virus software. There are many that can be downloaded for free over internet, and others that you must purchase. I suggest Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware, or System Guard as far as freeware is worried, and if you purchase it, I suggest Norton Antivirus, or MacAfee.

Step 2

Ensure antivirus virus definitions are updated by updating them through internet but ensure that you are straight attached to internet rather than through other PC. You could have gotten virus from PC or, if it is attached to internet through PC, you could give them virus.

Step 3

After virus definitions are updated, detach PC from any network connections.

Step 4

Launch anti-virus software and do complete system scan. This checks PC for damage files, viruses, malware, Trojans, or mainly anything that can damage PC. It is better to leave PC alone during this time, permitting it to launch system scan unrestrained.

Step 5

After complete system scans is finished, it will ask if you want to view, delete, or quarantine files. See them if you want, but I suggest removal unless its vital system file that is damage.

Step 6

Reboot PC. Viruses must now be deleted. Though, if PC still runs slow or strange extra step is given to bring it up to speed.

Step 7

Go to start, programs, accessories, system tools, and run disk defragmenter. Reboot PC, and go through similar steps apart from this time run disk cleanup. Reboot PC, and now PC must be quick, organized, and virus-free.
