Thread: Error during installation

I recently bought the game Gears of War. When installing it, it gave an error at the beginning. It was related to 'War Game-G4WLive. exe'. The error stated that the file is either missing or cannot be accessed.

I tried it on my cousin's laptop and it continued to install till the very end. My system configuration is: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200, Nvidia GeForce 9600GT, 3 GB RAM, Windows Vista Home Basic SP2. Please Help.

Hello. If you are sure that the game installed perfectly on your friend's laptop, it clearly means that there is a problem with your computer hardware or software. There could be three reasons for the problem-your hard drive has bad sectors, a virus has infected your operating system, or your optical drive is dirty or misaligned. To try solving this problem, you should do the following. Scan for viruses and malware. Run a disk check on your hard drive and defragment it once. Check any loose cabling inside your system-remove all cables (power and data) and reconnect them to ensure proper connections. Use a CD/DVD cleaner and clean the lens of your optical drive. If needed, you might even have to open the optical drive and clean the lens manually. If it still gives the same error, try using another optical drive on your computer to rule out any other hardware issue.
