Still need to remove physical DVDs; back them up, or make copies in original gets injured?

Instructions

Step 1

It is official to rip copies of DVDs that complete own and only want to help. Applications utilized here eliminate DRM from bought movies, and if you are doing that, do so at your risk.

Step 2

Download Mac the Ripper. This is free tool that "rip" DVD directly on hard disk, with no firmness whatsoever. Means that retail DVDs end up upwards of 9GB, so be ready.

Step 3

After installed, begin program and put in DVD to back up. There are two modes to ripping DVD. Click MODE button, select to rip whole disc, containing menus and all, or just rip feature film. The latter will save much space. Keep in mind; you are ripping an uncompressed copy of whatever DVD inserted.

Step 4

After all set up, click File, Save As and select folder to store movie. Every film saved as .VOB files, which are uncompressed DVD files. This is definitely the best way to obtain DVD on hard drive.

Step 5

Now, at free time, choose to compress VOB files into anything handier. I prefer using Handbrake, other free program that is great on Macs. Handbrake also rips DVD, but not also or as rapidly as Mac the Ripper, and you will not have ideal, uncompressed copy of movie when you utilize Handbrake.
