Creating document in MS Word, you require indenting sentences to match to certain viewpoint guidelines at work, school or for publications. Indentation is simple to do using Word.
Instructions
Microsoft 97-2003 Instructions
Step 1
Highlight sentence you need to indent by pulling cursor over text.
Step 2
Get straight ruler. If ruler is not open, go to View and connect "Ruler" to open it.
Step 3
Tick "First Line Indent" marker on ruler. This is hourglass shaped tab.
Step 4
Pull marker to cm or inch mark where you desire the indentation to be.
Step 5
Raise or reduce left indent of whole para by choosing text, click Format menu then click "Decrease Indent" or "Increase Indent."
Step 6
Modify right indent of snippet by choose paragraph and pulling "Right Indent" marker, to cm or inch that you want.
Word 2007 Instructions
Step 1
Click spot you yearning the indent to be.
Step 2
Click "Page Layout" tab. This shows Paragraph dialog box that is labeled "Indent" and "Spacing"; click on small arrow to show pop-up menu.
Step 3
Click "Special" menu, click "First Line." Beside "Special" menu listed as "By."
Step 4
Click "By" arrow to set amount of inches you want to indent text. Press "OK".
Step 5
Raise or reduce right indent of paragraph by go to "Paragraph" sector in page layout tab then click arrows adjacent to "Indent Right" option.
