One reason for incorporating Flash animations on websites is reality that they occupy small space. Thus, loading times are notably decreased. From basic animations to flash movies, it is likely to decrease size of flash files with knowledge of Flash and how file formats are arranged.
Instructions
Image Compression
Step 1
Flash, does not optimize pictures. To optimize images, start an animation with pictures whose size you desire to decrease.
Step 2
Run Flash application and go to Library panel.
Step 3
Get an image, right click and look its properties.
Step 4
If image has many colors, choose JPEG option. If it has less than 255 colors, choose GIF/PNG.
Step 5
Modify image compression aspects by choosing on Compression menu.
Step 6
Push "Test" button to preview image and adjust compression settings properly.
Sound Compression
Step 1
Sounds can be compressed separately by go to Flash Library; press "Ctrl" and "L" to start it.
Step 2
Right click on proper sound and choose its properties.
Step 3
Choose Compression menu to view various compression choices obtainable.
Step 4
If sound file is in WAV format, choose smaller size format, like MP3.
Step 5
If sound file is quite short, ADPCM will work better.
Step 6
As animated text occupies extra space than even images and sounds shared, evade breaking text separately. This increases animation size significantly.
Step 7
Go to "Text" options tab and make sure that no embed option is chosen. Embedding text into an SWF file increases file size.
Deleting Unused Objects in the Library
Step 1
Go to Library panel by pushing "Ctrl" and "L."
Step 2
In Library click "Options Menu" icon.
Step 3
Click "Select Unused Items."
Step 4
All things not being utilized will be in blue. Remove these by clicking on "Trash."
Step 5
To make sure that track of every image is kept and sounds in Flash file, make folders for sounds and images by "New Folder".
