Matroska Video (MKV) file format is utilized both online and Windows-based PCs, but it is not known by Mac PCs. Converting MKV file to MP4 format gives compatibility for Macs and for utilize on mobile devices, like iPods and cell phones. QuickTime Pro gives better conversion experience as it works in similar way on both Macs and Windows based PCs, and it allows adjusting MP4 file. Converting MKV to MP4 file format will not reduce video quality of original MKV file.

Instructions

Step 1

Download and install Mac or Windows version of free QuickTime Player program. Reboot Windows based PC after installation finished.

Step 2

Launch this player. Open "QuickTime" on Mac or "File" on Windows PC and choose "Registration." Give name in "Registered To" division.

Go back to site and click "Upgrade Now". Buy registration code. Enter code into "Registration". Exit the window.

Step 4

Launch it once more, which has changed into QuickTime Pro now that code was entered. Go to "File" and choose "Open File". Go to MKV file. Click "Open" to load MKV file into QuickTime Pro.

Step 5

Go to "File" and choose "Export". Choose "Movie to MPEG-4" from menu adjacent to "Export" tab. Leave "Most Recent Settings" beside "Use" tab alone.

Step 6

Choose "Options" and "Audio" tab. Pick "Best" from "Encoding Quality" menu. Click "OK" to exit window.

Step 7

Give name to MP4 file. Click "Save" to save MP4 file that was changed from WMA file to hard disk.
