While it is easy to estimated the color that neon light emits, your neon-colored graphics may not look like the real thing. In order to achieve an accurate symbol of neon colors, you must make the illusion of this effect. In my recent discussion with Bert Monroy, the legendary commercial artist explains that "Besides adding a bright color to the shape of the neon, it is also necessary to add a soft glow to the outer edges of the shape to simulate the effect of a lit neon tube." Additional effects power be added to enhance the illusion, such as casting a reflection on the ground.

Instructions

Step 1

Acquire or download a neon color diagram and select a color.

Step 2


Set your foreground color for the color you want to estimated. Do this by entering the hexadecimal color code obtain from the color chart into the color picker.

Step 3

Fill your entity with the vanguard color.

Step 4


Change the center color to a brighter color, select a soft paintbrush and stroke the entire upper edge of the object. Do the similar for the lower edge using a less bright color.

Step 5

Add highlights to the center of the picture using the avoid tool with a soft brush.

Step 6

Use the eraser to add hotspots to your light.

Step 7


Add a Gaussian blur to the image by pick Gaussian Blur from the Filters menu.

Step 8


Open the layer styles panel and add an external glow. Be sure to choose a glow color that respects your neon object.
