Modifying a software name can be done using Windows registry. Though, the modifying name is not applied to all the places in the system where the file is stored. This change wills only shows on files that link to the software, but are not part of the installed program.

• Open the "Start" >> click on "Run..." Type "regedit" >> press "OK." This will open the "Registry Editor."
• Click on the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" menu and after that inflate the menu under it that reads "Software."
• Place the software you are looking for in the "Software" menu. Right-click the program and click on the "Rename" option. Type in the name you would like to the software to use. The changes will be applied to all the files in the program.
