    While on desktop he clicks individualize and then clicks on Sound he acquires no response whatever. Goes to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound and clicks there he again acquires no response. It's as if both links are dead. Goes to Device Manager>Sound and Game Controllers and updates the driver, Windows states this is the most recent driver, OK. Uninstalls the driver and reboots with the similar negative results.

    Sometimes acquiring Windows drivers for you does not forever work great. It's generally best to simply uninstall it from Device Manager and install a good driver from any motherboard you have, and/or sound card.
