Thread: No 5.1 sound when playing MP3s

My new computer has arrived and so far everything is quite wonderful. Only one little problem concerns me currently. I have the onboard sound of my Gigabyte P35-DS3 and activated 5.1 speaker connected. When playing MP3s on Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit (both Win amp and Windows Media Player) and games I have but only sound from two speakers (front left and front right). If I start> Control Panel> Sound> Speakers> Test configure all the boxes, I hear it is strangely perfect each box individually. When I decided to reinstall again by motherboard driver CD the sound driver, ran the sound does not suddenly. Again only sound from two speakers. Also works! Not my headset. Can anybody help?

Wanted only the X-Fi Xmod, which is useless without the Speaker Docking Module, however. Both will cost a total of 120 €, which I was then too much. The Audigy 2 ZS Notebook use I cannot because I have no PCMCIA port. Since then remained only the choice between Extigy and Audigy 2 NX. Right now I'm both are here, the Extigy sell but again.
