I've bought a new laptop (Fujitsu H700) with built-in FireWire connection and also ability to both types of external firewire cards to connect (ExpressCard 32 & 54). I had my previous laptop (defective is now) a lot of problems with firewire. So I thought to buy a device that offers all possibilities in this area. Yesterday unit picked up and started. All software is easily installed (fully automatic). After 1 / 2 had the laptop ready for use. My M-Audio ProFire Lightbridge is connected and try to play music: With the built-in FireWire I got a distorted "robotic" sound. The other driver tried IEE1394 (older type W7) but then I heard nothing.
The FW-Express Card Type 32 (ordered from Conrad) I hear no sound. Also a few other drivers for IEEE1394 tested without success. I have connected to the interface. Bitrate and latency can resist anything but hear. However, this card worked fine with my previous Fujitsu laptop Amilo Xi 2428
FW Express card type 54 (SWEEX FW002) works but sometimes I sit with a brief interruption. Have the number of samples (buffer) gradually increased to 4096 but problem remains. I already have all unnecessary hardware under "device manger" off so I do not get interrupts from those components. When changing the type of driver I have always rebooted.
What else can go try.
