Later the demise of Aureal, contest again Creative laboratories became so sparse. There were the common players of course, but not many of them were capable to match the conglomerate grip that Creative controlled over the sound card market. Hercules’ GameTheater XP was one such gem, but quirks similar to having to reboot each time you needed to switch among regular PCM sound out and DD or DTS over the digital SPDIF outs were bothering to say the least.
Now the position is fairly much the similar as it was, but the bar has indeed been increased, thanks to multiple competitors. One of the lesser familiars ones – at least in the client Computer audio world – is M-Audio. M-Audio specializes in high-end professional recording products for the Computer and Mac. Their products are so nice familiar to artists that spend time with synthesizers and/or recording music from instruments. M-Audio’s products cater to those who need so pristine audio fidelity and so low latency. Things such as all-channel 24-bit/192kHz and ASIO support can be got in near entire of their products.
M-Audio currently began creating client products that took utilize of the Universal Serial Bus characteristic of most of recents PC. Although this gives rather a convenience to mobile computers (as good as permitting you to stay out of your computers’ innards), it does available some troubles inherited through relying on Universal Serial Bus. Because Universal Serial Bus 1.1 is not so quick, there are a few function tradeoffs that must be created, and because central processing unit utilization is relatively high, Universal Serial Bus audio results are not so attractive to most users. Despite entire this, M-Audio has hanadled to make few very compelling USB 1.1 audio answer that offer multi-channel audio, Dolby Digital and DTS output as good as high-fidelity 24-bit/96kHz output and input.
What arrives in our hands now though, is M-Audio’s PCI audio answer targeted at now about everybody with a Computer. Named the Revolution 7.1, M-Audio is indeed upping the ante in sound quality rather a bit as we will examine after. But the actual bang for the buck with the Revolution 7.1 is its high-resolution audio. Capable of giving you 24-bit/192kHz processing and outputting on all 8 channels, as good as complete 24-bit/192kHz, the Revolution 7.1 is the solution for those seeking the utmost in sound quality.
