Speaker driver The vibrating core of the speaker. This usually involves a diaphragm connected to a voice coil elastically suspended between magnets. When electrical impulses are passed through the voice coil, it is magnetised; the resulting interaction with the surrounding magnet causes the diaphragm to vibrate, which is interpreted as sound.
