We have been observing lately that almost all computer speakers looks pretty, but many fall short of delivering great sound quality. And strangely, it's been this way for a long time with most manufactures focusing on style rather than the sound quality.

Considering the fact that a 2.1 speaker is mostly preferred by those who don't really want to invest a lot in speaker systems, GigaWorks T3 has a high price tag compared to other 2.1 speaker systems, However, if you are ready to spend that much then we are sure you will be favourably impressed with it.

With a giant subwoofer, two satellite speakers and one knob-like volume control pod. Giga Works T3 reminded us of Bose's Companion 3, But, T3 has mounted three woofers in the subwoofer unit instead of one.

The subwoofer and the satellite speakers look great as a unit. The wired sound control pod has a rubberized finish giving it an elegant look. It also sports an auxiliary in, headphone port and a brilliant blue LED. You can even control your MP3 player through this control pod. However, we wished Creative had included the mute function in the control pod. All the connectors and bass increase/decrease knob are placed at the rear of the subwoofer unit. Installing T3 in your system is a breeze.

While BassXPort is meant for speaker systems that do not have a subwoofer or woofer, SLAM incorporates three low-range drivers into a single subwoofer for producing double bass from a single subwoofer, instead of using three subwoofers. And that's the reason why T3's subwoofer sports three drivers in it.

In terms of performance, we tried a couple of games along with hard rock numbers to check the sound quality, we were impressed with the crisp highs and the quality oflows. The gaming experience was excellent, It produced satisfactory gun shots, explosions and nitro sounds. However, when the bass is at its fullest it layers over the high-mid frequencies while listening to vocal or acoustic guitar. We were also impressed with the fact that it did not produce any distortion even at its full volume.
