The most reasonably priced of the lot consists of five small size bookshelf style speakers, and rectangular black cabinets make up their exterior. The subwoofer is a bit tall though with LEOs in the front arranged vertically in a column (seven in all), below a similar row of flat silver buttons, on the right extremity of the front panel. The color is black with a matte finish for the whole set. The product is lightweight and easy to lug around, not to mention very simple to connect with RCA connections lined up at the back panel for both stereo and analog S.l-channel inputs. Even the individual speaker outs are yellow RCA connectors.
What we really wanted to see is whether the sound has bad distortion levels, and thankfully the speakers didn't have that problem. There is no real separate tweeter in this speaker unit. The frequency response yielded not so clear highs and mid frequencies, with too much forward sounding mids. But the sound is loud enough, and also the low end is not bad, it is warm and extends quite low. Surround sound mode is fun as the bass is hard enough to watch and enjoy a film or play games. Overall the loudness does fit the bill, but frequency response in the high end is skewed.
FOR: Good features, impressive high and mid frequency response.
AGAINST: Could have been louder.
