Thread: Information regarding optical drive

As I need to know some information on the optical drives and their differentiation between DVD and a Blu-ray disc drives as i know that the blu-ray drives are only able to read the Blu-ray disc and is there any distinction between DVD drives and Blu-ray drives as I need only one optical drive and can I connect it in the SATA hard drive slot?

I would like to assist that the Blu-ray drives are more costly as compared to our DVD drives and most advantage feature of blu-ray disc is it can store more than 20 GB of data on a particular disc as compared to DVD disc it can store 5 times more data as DVD disc can only store to about 4 to 8GB and the blu-ray drives can read even the DVD disc but the DVD drives cannot read the blu-ray disc and the blu-ray technology was being first launched by SONY corporation and today all the drives comes with a SATA connector and if you have some additional SATA ports on your motherboard or else if you don’t have enough SATA port on your motherboard for connecting the drive you can connect it in the your SATA hard drive by making some changes in the setting. As compared to brand SONY is the best for blu-ray drive.
