I didn’t understood what you mean to say are the partition created or not if not you can create it by using Disk management utility or else by Fdisk in the dos command and if they are created wrong the disk size shown will be less and even their might be problem while installing Windows XP you can run the check disk utility or move the entire data to other partition and while installing windows XP you get a option to create raw partition or create another partition or completely create new raw partition by using Computer Management interface and relating to yours upgrade from Windows 98 to XP it depend on your system hardware as you have only 128 MB of RAM and it will install the XP but it will operate very slow as you need almost minimum to 256 MB of RAM or 512 MB to operate the system very smoothly with 1.5 Ghz of processor speed or else try to install both the operating system if you have correct partition created and after installation of both the operating system during start up it will show two option like whether start the system in Windows 98 or Windows XP and you have to just click on the following option which you would like to work with it.
