To create a simple volume or a spanned volume:
1. In Disk Management, perform one of the subsequent steps:
o To make a straightforward volume, just right-click on the unallocated space on the dynamic disk on which you would like to produce the simple volume, and click on the New Volume.
-otherwise-
o To generate a spanned volume, you have to right-click on the unallocated space on one of the dynamic disks on which you would like to create the spanned volume, and afterward s click on the New Volume.
2. In the New Volume Wizard, you just click on the Next.
3. And after that click the type of volume which you would like to create (Simple volume or Spanned volume), also click on the Next.
4. Click the disk (or disks) in which you want to create the volume by performing one of the following steps:
o If you are creating a simple volume, verify that the disks in which you want to create a simple volume are listed in the selected dynamic disks box.
-or-
o If you are creating a spanned volume, under all available dynamic disks, click to select the disks that you want, and then click Add.
Verify that the disks in which you would like to produce a spanned volume are programmed in the selected dynamic disks box.
5. In the Size box, identify the volume that you would like for the size, and then click on the Next.
6. Give a drive letter or drive path, and after that click on the next.
7. State the formatting options which you feel like by performing one of the subsequent steps:
o If you do not desire to configure the partition, just click on the Do not format this partition and afterward click Next.
-or else-
o If you feel like to configure the partition, just click on the Format this partition with the subsequent settings, and execute the subsequent steps in the Format dialog box, and afterward click on the Next:
1. Sort a name for the size in the Volume label box.
NOTE: This is an non-compulsory step.
2. Click on the file system which you would like to apply in the File system box.
You can also modify the disk distribution unit volume, and identify whether you wish to execute a quick format, or allow the file and folder compression on NTFS-formatted volumes.
8. And finally prove that the selection that you selected is exact, and then click on the Finish.
The size is produced and also appears in the suitable dynamic disk or disks in Disk Management.
