Thread: External IDE HDD Not Recognized - Please Help

I own a Hitachi Deskstar 160 GB (IDE) hard drive that is enclosed in an especially external hard drive attachment. So I pug it in, attach it through USB, and turn it on. It appears up in "Device Manager", but not in "My Computer". So I seek out around, trying to repair the problem, and each one says that it needs to be activated in "Disk Management". Well the trouble is that it doesn't even confirm up in "Disk Management". I try it in other PC (I have Vista, and I tried it in an XP), but it still has the similar trouble. So if somebody can assist me with this trouble which would be overwhelming.

Supply it with additional power through USB it will surely help you out.
