    Default Winchester Seagate 7200.11 series

A friend stopped working HDD Seagate 7200.11 series to 1TB, he said, the reason is that a series of 7200.11 rejected, many problems with the hard drive .I've heard anyone on this issue?
I have the same screw to 500GB, to buy PC in November 2008? They say you need to change the firmware in the service center?
Do I need to do anything to avoid potential problems in the future?

You need to update the firmware and all should improve. Restore the data and may succeed, but why wait when it is such a case. Better advance care.
