    Default Best OS HDD setup

Disk access time is linear with number of disks in a raid 0.

So my question is: Would it be wise to use 4 disks in a raid 0 as my system disk? Or should I just use 2 or perhaps no raid at all? How about a nested array?

I'm really wondering where that chart came from. Access time (latency) should be largely independent of the number of drives in the array, and if that chart were accurate you'd want to have the minimum possible number of discs in the array, which doesn't make sense.

Well a raid with many disks have a very high throughput so it makes sense for a file server, but the high access time is terrible for a OS disk. To my understanding ;I was unaware of this "disadvantage" of a raid.
