Thread: External HDD attached to infected PC

I have external HDD that attached to PC with likely viruses, but I need to utilize it on my major PC, which is clean and I need it to stay clean. So please tell me how to attach HDD to other PC without moving any viruses. Any help will be appreciated.

Ensure that you have good AntiVirus program, and it is correctly installed on major PC. I advise Avast, or AVG free but there are many good other anti-virus programs. For information on hard drive just hold down shift key when putting in connection, then after connection open explorer, and right click and choose "scan this drive". Or if you don’t want any data then just format the drive, which removes any malware.

You can remember one thing when you can connnect your external harddisk you can not double click on that drive option, you can go with explorer option in external hard disk. So there is no any option to move virus to hard disk to your computer.
