Despite the surge in popularity of online saving there's still a booming usable storage market. Seagate's FreeAgent GoFlex Pro is one of the new tool to hit the shelves and it has a little nifty tricks up its sleeve.
The device itself is very small measuring just 112 x 82 x 14mm. At 160g it's also nicely light. The shiny outer shell looks nice and there are no buttons on the chassis. While this lack of buttons doesn't specifically bother us we would have liked to have viewed one or two status lights not being able to view when data is being shifted to and from the device can make it tricky to know when it not in use . Our review sample was the 500GB model but there's also a 750GB range available for an extra 30.
A docking station is added as part of the package. Other than the device itself this does add little status lights. However there's still no activity indicator all you get is a power LED along with four LED bars to show the price of gap remaining on the drive.
Sitting in the docking station vertically it's a bit too easy for the drive to take a tumble so you'll require to place it carefully on your desk. If you prefer to lay the drive flat, a different USB cable is also added. As is the case with various usable drives it takes all the power it require from the USB connection so a separate power adapter isn't needed.
