    Default Recently, my laptop will not detect my usb external harddisk, I can see green light on my external hd...?

    when I connect the external HD to my laptop, my laptop show nothing indicate there is usb has been plug in or what. Will it be possible mean that my hd is crashed, and I have lost all the data in it? The HD has two partition, and none of them have os loaded in it....

    First, try plugging the hd into another computer. If it works, then you may have trouble with your USB port or the hd driver. You could uninstall the driver and plug the drive back in to see if that fixes it.Just because it won't work on your computer doesn't mean you can't get the files off.
