Ordinarily when Rambus constructs headlines, it's since the company is suing somebody over an alleged patent violation, but that isn't the case today. Rambus is in the news since the company claims it constructed various breakthroughs in differential storage signaling, pushing SoC-to-storage interfaces to a groundbreaking 20Gb/s. This, Rambus tells, can extend individual-ended storage signaling to 12.8Gb/s.


"We accept paved multiple ways for the industry by supplying results that extend individual-ended signaling outside today's limits and formulating the means for a seamless transition to derivative signaling," said Sharon Hold, senior vice president and general manager of the Semiconductor Business Group at Rambus. So Rambus determined to put a proprietary spin on yet some other open standard, which they will utilize later to sue the hell out of anybody who affords them the stink eye.
