The setting up of the hardware itself is very simple. For wired computers, plug in a CATS cable from the computer's LAN port to the back of the router into one of the points, labelled Ethernet. A router normally has a separate port for the Internet connection or a larger network, which case it func¬tions as a gateway router. Take the cable that comes from your ADSL router or cable modem, and plug it into the Internet port. The activity indicators for your wired port and the one for wireless should turn on, indicating the plugging in of wires in the appropriate ports. For wireless connections, make sure you are in the vicinity of the router and enable WiFi on the laptop that you want to hook up to the network.
