Thread: Fast command line shutdowns

To shut down one or several Windows servers or workstations quickly, both XP and Vista have a Shutdown command. Running it from the command line as shutdown - i will bring up a GUI. This lets administrators add or delete machines based on name, IP address, or sub net. Be careful, though: It's a powerful command that will shut down a domain controller as easily as it will an accounting workstation.
