Mozilla, the creators of Firefox, have released the first Alpha of their long-awaited mobile browser project, codenamed "Fennec". Aimed at developers, the release runs only on Nokia N810 tablet devices. The main aim of the release is to gather feedback on the foundation's approach to the user experience for mobile devices.

The new mobile browser is expected to support touchscreen as well as standard mobile phones and handheld devices. Features already implemented include
web standards support, tabbed browsing, bookmarks, Web search integrated into the URL bar, download manager, page zooming, password manager, and a popup blocker. Users will be able to integrate the browser with their phones by highlighting and dialling phone numbers on websites
