Orkut is another popular site, mostly used among the college students. It is most popular in Brazil and India. In Orkut you can rate your friends as Haven't met, Acquaintances, Friends, Good friends, or best friends. You
can also scrap a message to multiple friends at a time.
We've all heard of "actors" and "actresses" having millions of fans all across the globe. Do you want to get some fans too? Let's see how Orkut allows you to rate your friends and let them know that you're their "Fans". To do this, click the Friends tab. You can now view all your friends. Next to each friend, you can provide your rating for them.
To let your friend know that you're a fan, click the star. Your name will be added as a Fan in your friend's My Fans section. To mark your friends to be trusty, click the smiley, and they will become yellow in colour. The more smileys you select, the more trusty you rate your friend. If you find your friend to be cool, click the squares, and they will become blue in colour. The more squares you select, the more cool you rate your friend. Similarly, if you want to mark your friend as sexy, you can click the heart, and they turn red. The more hearts you click, the more sexy you rate your friend to be.
These rating will be combined with the ratings provided by other friends, and the average rating will be displayed on your friend's profile and will be visible to everyone who visits the profile. A very useful feature provided by Orkut, is tracking users who view your profile. This will help you know the kind of people interested in seeing
your profile. You have the option to turn this feature on or off. If you turn this feature on, you can view the names of users who view your profile, and similarly if you view someone's profile, they can view your name. If you turn this feature off, you will not be able to track the name of users who visited your profile. Similarly, if you visit other people's profile while this feature is turned off, they will not be able to view your name. To track users who view your profile, click settings in the left pane. Click the privacy tab. In the profile visitors section, select the show profile visits option. Click "Save Changes".
