CAL explanation in windows 2003

I’m having amplification about windows 2003 normal version of the operating system. I've also made a lot of research on CAL (client access license) and I was speculating if I desire to buy a cal to my server? Then my server will work as file and printer sharing in it. There is no other software for installing it apart from Microsoft office there are no other services which are been needed for it. I hope that file and printer sharing may work with this. I’m hoping that you will provide me some advice regarding this.
Thanks.

It's clarified to you that you will require one CAL per device/user for accessing the server software in the computer. You are also making use of a particular file as well as the print sharing; hence there is only one license per user/device which will enable you to make use of these types of services. (Untill you make use of the per Server licensing mode - which might be more accurate then having only one server, and which don't need to buy any more - then the number of CAL’s which you require them for the maximum number of immediate connections to the server.)
