Default Making use of User Profile

Presently I desire to move a user profile from one machine to another machine. I was also running with an issue in the past regarding copying the profile from one machine to another with the general Group Policy. The GPO from the old machine may also be applied and not to the GPO on the new machine to be installed. Even when I try to alter the configuration on the new machine it would not apply on the newly copied user profile in it. Any advice on how to copy the user profile from one machine to another which would be very greatly appreciated.

I recognize that the GPO on the new machine will not be relevant to the newly copied user profile and you wish to know how to move the profile from one Windows 2000 to another Windows 2000. If I have misapprehended your concern. You can also move from user which is old profile to a new one by using the USMT tool. You may also make use of User State Migration tool (USMT). This tool is designed specially for administrators only; individual users do not have to use the tool.

When you say that it is been designed for administrators only that what do you mean by that? Do you also mean that it should not be the only one to migrate from admin accounts and not the regular user accounts? Can I also use this to migrate any of the user to a new computer.
No, USMT can move not only just as admin account but also the regular user accounts too. The USMT tool which is been designed for the administrators way that it is ease for IT Administrator Staff to run the tool in an activity environment. If there is something which is unclear, please let me know about it.

Thanks for your prompt reply! Good to hear the information helps. However, based on my research, I am also worried that the USMT tool does not support the remote operation. USMT can move only several users on a single machine. Possibly you can also make use of other remote control tools like as Remote Desktop for performing of the operation activities.
