Normally, I'm incredibly tech savvy. I'm fluent in unix and linux. My main OS is Mac OS X 10.5.1. I need to install windows XP on one of my partitions. I have made, with boot camp, a 51.8 GB Partition. I have a copy of Windows XP Proffesional I aquired from a friend. It has the regular and ACADEMIC EDITION. It is not slipstreamed, and is SP1. When I enter the set up (blue console screen), it tells me that: No previous version of Windows was found on your system, please insert a disk [from WIndows 2000 or previous].One problem is, during this time, my eject key does not work, as I am not in mac OS X. I am using a Mac Book Pro 15" with Leopard. I have 200GB hdd and 4GB SDRAM. I also have an NVIDIA 8600 graphics card. My second problem is, i have no other disk, so I leave the XP disk in and hit enter. It will not accept it. Does anyone know a way to modify the disc to bypass this section of the install so that it installs from scratch?Apparently, I have an update version. Unfortunately, i really need windows xp for a project.I have the serial key.The problem is...i need boot camp for games too!
