Windows 7 appetizer to 32bit home premium is an improve install but to go from 32bit to 64bit, you would require to do fresh install so will have to keep of files desire to remain to different drive or media. You will also want to make sure that can get 64bit drivers for each of hardware I like to download ahead of time and load a flash drive with drivers, downloaded program installers, and few utilities that I might want. Microsoft's INTENT was for to upgrade but stay with 32bit, but as far as I know, there is no cause they will give hard time
