Thread: Open a folder in a new window

In XP when i opens any child folder of parent folder it opens in same window. What if i want to open it in new window? i have searched on net but I am not getting any proper solution? Please let me know if there is any inbuilt method to overcome the issue? Thanks in advanced.

You can do small changes in registry:

1. Press windows button +R ,run after that type regedit and click OK

2. Browse the key: "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\Shell"

3. Create a new key named "New window". To do this chooses "Shell", after that right-click "New" and "key".

4. Right side of the Registry Editor, double click on Default and after that in the field of writing, write "New window".

5. Create a new key called "command".

6. Right side of the Registry Editor, double click on Default and after that in the writing field, type "explorer.exe %1".

7. Now when you right-click a folder, a new line shows to open in another window!
