Thread: Pop up Windows Installer

When I open desktop folders or navigate to a website using IE, I get this Windows Installer popup display me to select the location where it can find the laptop Software.MSI INSTALLATION PACKAGE!! I cancel and have to do this 3-4 times before it will allow me to progress to where I want to go.
Currently had Notebook 10 on the system but deleted it - probably a hangover from that deletion? DFone a PC search and do not have any Notebook msi files on the system.

In your description there you are seeing the results of a leftover registry key or dword value still lingering around and looking for that specific file now gone. But that would be the first idea for still seeing the popup.

If you have any Knowledge with the registry then a browse in the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE" branch to see if you can locate anything with the MSI name on it

If you don’t have any knowledge about typing "regedit" on the Start>Run command line there and click ok or press enter to open that up
