    Default How to remove undeletable files in windows

    I have computer system with windows XP operating system. Whenever i try to delete a file from my computer, i get the error "access denied" and file may be in use. I also get one of the following error messages.

    • Cannot delete file: Access is denied

    • There has been a sharing violation.

    • The file is in use by another program or user.

    Please provide me the correct logical solution to solve the above problem. Any type of information on the above problem would be appreciated.

    This is happen because of explorer.exe process locks files that are in use, well preventing you from deleting them. Follow these simple steps

    • Go to start >> run >> type cmd >> click ok >>Open a command prompt

    • Browse the location where the locked file is

    • Press CTRL+ALT-DEL, click on “task manager”, choose the Processes tab

    • Kill the explorer.exe process through the “End Process” button

    • Go back to the command prompt and delete the file

    • open the task manager windows once again

    • Select file->new task

    • Type explorer.exe in the “create new task” field

    • Press OK.

    You can even try removing the locked files with the help of windows recovery tool.

    • Insert Windows CD, boot on it, and at the “Welcome to Setup” screen, press “R“.

    • Once the recovery console has started, browse the location of your locked file, and remove it.

    • Since Windows recovery console does not really start the PC, the files will not be in use, and you will be able to remove them.
