Thread: 22 GB File make on Windows 7

Windows 7 or some other program has made a 22 GB file on my C drive, it has no file reference and will not permit me to do anything to it. I am the computer administrator and have tried taking ownership which didn't work either. It's also been scanned with Malware Bytes and MSEE which didn't catch anything either.

The first belief on seeing that screen posted twice was a temp log or possible system volume information type file being directed at the root of the drive . As a rule you wouldn't look any extension for particular file types being a reserved for system only type file.

as you simply went that in the screen that doesn't show whether the folder options>view is set for displaying or hiding defended system files however. If you have the items for them notcheked in the menu bar>Tools>Folder options>View tab that would explain why you are seeing it rather then being hidden from view.
