Thread: Something incorrect with my HD or a Windows 7 consequence.

I obtain a latest HD about 2 weeks ago and I set up Wins XP on it and everything was nice. A some days since I advanced to Wins 7 and present when I'm on the PC just browsing the internet, I listen a sound same to when I ability low my PC but it's much smoother than common, and nothing I'm performing appears to be pretended by it. I don't recall this occurrence when I had XP on it. I alterd the power settings in Windows 7 to ne'er turn anything off or go to sopor, but it yet creats this noise all present and then. Any suggestion what's going on? Oh, I also have my former HD hooked up as the D repel, but I also had it that way for about the 2 weeks I had the latets HD with XP on it.

Likely the hard repel spinning low. See your power settings. Wins 7 is much good at power management than XP. When you test to search the drive after, do you have to wait a some minutes and do you hear it spin up?

SuchLike I told, I altered the power settings so zero turns off or goes to rest and it passes while I'm browsing the internet, but no, there are no noises suchlike something is supplying back up when I proceed to browse. Is there few anyother power setting I should recognize about in Windows 7 where this could occure still while I'm surfing?

When you're surfing the net, you're not utilizing the hard repel identicaly intensely. It's pattern. Continuing to search won't spin it up. Understand my post once again. What occures when you search the hard repel?
