    Default Ramdisk for Windows 7

Hello Friends, as our AMD can retirenext week and will also be replaced by an i7 system Scheme DHL hasmade the delivery on Saturday, just back, so come on Monday, I'veconsidered the following in my naive brain child, Operating system isWindows 7 Ultimate x64 The X58 system gets a 120GB PCIe SSD as a bootdevice, next are 12 GB Corsair Tri-Channel memory available. If I ofthe 12 GB Ram, 4 GB for a ramdisk "abzocke", but wouldalmost always have enough memory for Windows 7 are available, next Iwanted to assign the page file dusselige the ramdisk, then disableall the drives on the thing and just tell Windows, if they everoutsource data must necessarily, then stop on the ramdisk. Also, would then come from the front but maybe like the SSD on aPCIe-occurring "CHKDSK" solved problem, as the ramdisk isdeleted so basically shut down for.

Not a bad idea, but with 12 GB of RAM, you can disable the page file directly, Windows 7 will need in the amount of RAM, no swap file, your idea would work but in principle.

Yeah, I've already thought about it, disable it with the complete, but there are probably programs that will necessarily have a Windows swap file, otherwise the non fluppen but do not know what will, hold no surprises, By outsourcing the swap would be eliminated so even the writes to the pagefile on the SSD, which in principle would actually not too bad. I found a free, which can be used under Windows 7 addressieren up to 4 GB of RAM as a disk, since I do not install anything new before the new computer for my old lady, ahem, of course, fair one, I try this a try, now look what happens, have with my i7 box also ne PCIe SSD just have not thought of it before and I'm on my chest, I prefer to try first time in the new installation.

I have with my 8GB also blocked and had forgotten nearly what I did since it never had a trouble arises, Win7 and games never require more than 4GB of quiet rest can be invested in a ramdisk. The exclusions are video editing and processing programs frequently prevented more than 4GB, a program or game requires to be programmed in 64 bit it can use more memory and even win7 64 bit uses little more than 1.5 GB.

The shutdown of the page file can cause problems, and because it makes no sense to turn them off, because there just is no advantage you look at the savings of a little disk space as an advantage - and it makes no more sense to capture a potential source of error, it should be easy to finger it can be, and write to the pagefile on a RAM disk does not make any sense, the advantage would be ... what if you have enough memory is not swapped out anyway. With RAM disk is extended only to boot Initialize driver, create RAM disk also RAM Disks want to format Swap file write etc, the swap file is allowed to the best and where it is, yes eat no bread, otherwise: Does just what you want finally, if your system.
