If you feel that Word's user interface is boring and dull you can customize it's look and liven it up with a few simple steps. Word allows you a lot of flexibility in the appearance of the toolbars.

You can easily change the look of the button so as to portray exactly what that particular button does. For example, you might have a shortcut to a custom macro on a toolbar and may want to display an image instead of just the name of the macro.

You can do this by following these simple steps.

Right click on any toolbar and click "Customize" from the context menu.

Name: Changing toolbar button image.jpg
Views: 210
Size: 53.2 KB

Make sure the "Toolbars" tab is selected in the "Customize" dialog box.

With the "Customize" dialog box open, right click the button whose image you want to change.

A list of images are displayed under the "Change Button Image" context menu.

Simply click the image you want to replace the current image with.

Click the "Close" button to close the "Customize dialog box".

NOTE: This can be done witn any button on any toolbar and not only with macro shortcuts.
