Thread: Monitor your power (XP and Vista)

In these days of energy economy and recycling, it is a good idea to conserve power when not using your computer. In Windows, this can be done using the Power Options panel. To find this in Windows XP, click Start, choose Control Panel and, if using Category View, click the Performance and Maintenance link followed by Power Options; otherwise, just double-click the Power Options icon. In Vista, Power Options is within System and Maintenance. Both allow you to shut off the monitor after a period of inactivity.
