Windows includes a quick way to view pertinent information about every network that the computer is connected to, all at once. Press the Windows key and R together and type cmd into the run box that appears before pushing Enter. Now, at the command prompt, type ipconfig fall. This will bring up a list of all your networks and technical information about each one.

When browsing files in Vista, Windows Explorer truncates file names. To save manually resizing columns every time you want to browse files, open a folder and select Details from the View menu. Right-click on the Name column and choose Size Column to Fit. This will only show the Names column so it is wide enough to display the whole name. Alternatively, select Size All Columns to Fit to resize all columns automatically. Click the Organize button, then Folder and Search Options, then click Apply to Folders on the View tab.
