Default Installing xp on partition view

    Hi

I have a dell studio 1537 with preloaded view, I did 2 partitions, one for xp, when I want to xp installation saying that the operating system would be closed for no damage, then the options in the bios hard drive exchange save and exit and immediately I was able to install xp again turn my machine gave me no options to choose the operating system they immediately began xp and I am not allowed to see or view, I had to leave the hard drive as it was in the beginning and start the system with the DVD of view to see it again from the beginning and now that the principle remains the same, it gives me an option of Windows Vista or xp but I did not put on the list. Please help.

    Hi

The proper sequence for installing operating systems is to perform the first installation of Windows, starting with the oldest, and then perform the installation.

In your case, being a preview, you can not install XP first and then view what you can do except to recommend the following document Installing Windows XP with Windows Vista. One way to do it, but being a laptop, you use two hard drives is a complicated issue, if you have both systems, then it is when you should install.

I have an HP laptop tx2010es, and what I did was something which was not recommended but it worked, and I could find all the drivers for both Vista and XP, in my case, delete all partitions for XP, a second partition Vista, booked space (without formatting the partition, and created a final partition for storing data.

I installed XP first, then Vista, it allowed as a dual boot when I start wondering which system to boot. Finally I installed and in this case in the boot can only choose or Windows, if I choose windows brings me to the menu choice that I want Windows to boot, ie I can choose at boot time if I want, Vista or XP only Windows and once at startup to select Windows Vista or XP.

I was reading something to fix the problem but it was playing with Grub hiding and making visible partitions and at the end I could not make it work, the theory was very good, and saw that neither Vista nor XP not to see XP to Vista but well, more or less everything works well.
