Problem with vista start up

Hi.

I have lastly got my new build PC to work out (a slightly bent pin with the CPU ment that triple the memory RAM didn't work). The only concern I’m encountering at the moment (that I can be worried to sort out the right now) is with Vista loading.

I'm also running Vista Home Premium 64bit. When I start my PC windows starts and then just loads fine but suddenly stops as well as will not start if there is a disk in the DVD drive. If I take out the disk from the Vista that opens nearly instantly gone. If I depart the disk in the DVD drive it then just keeps rotating up as if it’s demanding to read the disk.
I also don't know that if this is a connected to a setting in the BIOS or in Vista itself. I would be grateful for any aid that can be offered.

Once the system starts the drive is able to read a disk rapidly or does it still hang? Also confirm that the BIOS is set to boot from your hard drive first and not from the DVD drive first.

When you say that "once the system starts...." what do you mean by that? If so then once the window is been loaded then yes I am able to read the disk. Windows does appear to be a bit slow though and the disc is a bit slow to be read as well. The boot main concerns are set as; HDD, Floppy and then the DVD drive.

All I can advocate is that Vista may have a problem with your exacting DVD drive, also that or else it's amazing about that exacting disk in the drive. If the system is hanging while any of the disk in the drive then I would try another DVD drive. Once Windows has ongoing there actually shouldn't be an obvious holdup between Vista and XP. If you have one then it sounds like there is a matter with the drive itself, maybe vis a vis Vista. But it's actually hard to guess. If you have another drive I would try that first before looking into other potential.

Unhappily I don't have an alternating drive to try. Its not just one disk also. I did observe that it only seems to program disks although. When it’s a data disk then the drive it roll up like windows might not counter but then starts ok.

I guess I need to try another drive.
