    Default Replacement Windows discs

Having upgraded to Microsoft Windows Vista asic from Windows XP by buying an upgrade disc I then bought a Vista Home Premium upgrade. I reinstalled Vista following a clearout but cannot perform the upgrade to Home Premium again because of a crack in the Vista disc. Can I just buy a replacement disc?

As long as you've bought legitimate software, Microsoft will be able to supply a replacement Vista DVD, but there might be a charge for the service and for postage. You can contact the company to arrange this by calling the main switchboard on 0870 6010100. Go through the automated phone system following the prompts for home users, then follow the prompts for 'products and replacement discs'. You will need to provide proof of purchase such as a receipt.
